Health Education

When children are well-rested, well-nourished, and physically fit, they are more ready to learn. From an early age, children recognize healthy habits and understand why they are important.
Grades 1-4: General Health, Nutrition, and Drug Use Prevention

Grades 5-6: Human Growth and Development, Puberty, AIDS, and Drug Use Prevention
As a child’s body matures it has an impact on every aspect of his or her life. These are critical years in a child’s development that influence body image and peer relationships for the rest of their lives.
Grades 7-8: Emotions, Decision-Making, Drug Prevention, STDs, Healthy Lifestyles
Life gets more complicated during these middle years. Young people ride a roller coaster of hormones and emotions, where good information and support are essential. Lessons begun in preschool laid a foundation of healthy habits that now help our youth face these challenges in positive ways.
High School: Self Exam Tools of Prevention
With increased maturity comes increasing freedom, responsibilities and risks. Young adults confront a complex array of social pressures, cultural influences and heightened peer pressure. Their developing independence must be grounded in factual information that allows them to make mature and responsible decisions about sex, drug use and disease prevention.
