This program is a comprehensive curriculum that creates reading more meaningful and engagingfor students. Research shows that classroomswhich include literature circlesencouragestudents to play a rotating assortment of task roles; enable the teacher to serves as a facilitator - not as instructor; use evaluation by teacher observation and student self-assessment; readers celebrate their reading, thinking and thebooks to form new groups; a more relaxed atmosphere pervades the room.

Instructor will provide eight (8) hours of training for teachers over either one full or two half days of instruction. All teachers will receive course workbooks. Teachers will be provided with guides for future reference.
