Group will be picked up in a clean school bus and transported to the North Pier Docks at River East Art Center - just west of Navy Pier. The group will be met by a certified instructor and escorted to the swim staging area. Wetsuits will be provided.
Nervous about swimming in the open water in Lake Michigan? At our open water swim clinics, participants improve their swim technique and become an effective - and comfortable - open water swimmer.
Practice will take place in shallow water and will include the following aspects of open water swimming:
*Proper swim gear and wetsuit fit
*Technique and skills for calm and rough (wavy) open water
*Bi-lateral breathing and open water sighting technique
*Practice swimming in large crowds
*Mental and emotional preparation for open water swimming and preventing panic
ADDITIONAL ADD-ON: The tour guide will walk the group to Navy Pier to eat at one of the local restaurants. Menus are pre-selected for the group and offer a variety of menu choices to accommodate most dietary requirements - menus can be customized. Each meal will include unlimited water, coffee, and soft drinks; appetizer; entree; dessert.
