Students will be introduced to the benefits of living a healthy and active lifestyle. Fitness University is designed for groups to explore various healthy lifestyle opportunities.
Activity opportunities will include single and multi-day events, both on and off-site. All tours will be fully insured, provide safe and clean transportation, certified guides and instructors, healthy meals, clean and safe lodging, and chaperons that have completed a series of background checks.
Instructor will provide sixteen (16) hours of training for students over an eight (8) week period. Students will meet with the instructor for two (2) hours, once a week. Group will be allowed to keep all of the materials (i.e. yoga mats, basketballs, water bottles, etc.) used for this program.

Sample Eight Week Course

Week 1 - Chicago Bike Tour
Tour will take the group off the tourist beat and into the city parks and packed beaches of the north side of Chicago. Tour members will get a glimpse as to how Chicagoans enjoy their beautiful city. Highlights include the Gold Coast mansions, Oprah's house, the Playboy Mansion, Lincoln Park Zoo, Old Town Historic District, North Avenue Beach and the lakefront. Dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp on Navy Pier.

Week 2 - Chicago Kayak Tour
Participants choose their favorite boat and paddle in the summer sun up to River Park, where they will disembark for a surprisingly nice riverside picnic dinner on the grass. Then paddle back by the light of the setting sun and the antique fixtures of the Addison bridge.

Week 3 - Indoor Wall Climbing
Discover the challenge, fun and excitement of indoor rock climbing. The facility boasts the highest quality and most complete indoor climbing facility in the area, featuring two Entre Prises climbing walls and a custom built bouldering cave. The facility's climbing walls provide the very best terrain for beginners and experts alike. The facility offers crack climbing, roofs, dihedrals, slab, sustained overhangs, and 46 foot high endurance routes. Dinner at facility.

Week 4 - Open Water Swim Instruction
Nervous about swimming in the open water in Lake Michigan? At our open water swim clinics, participants improve their swim technique and become an effective - and comfortable - open water swimmer. Beach picnic provided. Practice will take place in shallow water and will include the following aspects of open water swimming:

*Proper swim gear and wetsuit fit
*Technique and skills for calm and rough (wavy) open water
*Bi-lateral breathing and open water sighting technique
*Practice swimming in large crowds
*Mental and emotional preparation for open water swimming and preventing panic

Week 5 - Tumbling and Gymnastics
This program is offered to children who wish to experience and improve their tumbling and floor skills. It is also a program widely used by cheerleading squads to enrich acrobatic skills for routines. No meal provided.

Week 6 - Jazz and Hip-Hop Dance
Our dance program is dedicated to the education of the art and discipline of dance to develop self-esteem and creativity in children and young adults. The instructors have structured a unique program based on the Russian Vaganova Method, as well as their extensive professional performance and experience. This method builds strength, upper body posture, flexibility and grace. Dinner delivered.

Week 7 - Basketball Clinic
Participants will work with a local instructor to cover the basics of basketball strategy, fundamentals, and game-time situational plays. There will also be time for scrimmage and Q&A. Dinner delivered.

Week 8 - Hatha Yoga
This is the perfect class for a student who is either new to yoga or looking to return to the basics. Each student will be encouraged to work within their own capacity. At the end of the program, each student will know the basics of pranayama (breathing techniques) and alignment principles of basic standing, seated, and balance poses. Dinner delivered.
