Join in a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Illinois’ first president, Abraham Lincoln.

On this tour participants visit several of the magnificent Lincoln statues located in Chicago’s parks and neighborhoods. The group will also visit various locations in Chicago that have connections with the 16th President of the United States.

It is well known that Illinois is The Land of Lincoln, but many are unaware of the fine collection of representations of Mr. Lincoln in Chicago. Many statues depict Lincoln in various stages of his life - ranging from the young scholar, through his days as a circuit-riding lawyer, all the way up to his speech at Gettysburg.

In addition to the Lincoln statues, the participants will visit sites where the President stood and locations that have linked to him through history.

As an add on to this tour, the day can conclude with a visit to the Chicago History Museum. The Museum contains an extraordinary collection of Lincoln relics, and is celebrating 2009 as The Year of Lincoln.
